Ultra High Field MRI Roundtable in Melbourne
Following the ANZ Chapter meeting of the International Society for Magnetic Resonance in Medicine (ISMRM) on 19 - 20 November, the Ultra-High Field (UHF) MRI Roundtable took place on the Friday 21st of November 2025 at the University of Melbourne’s Woodward Centre.
The event was organised by members of the Melbourne Brain Centre Imaging Unit (MBCIU) in partnership with colleagues Dr Karin Markenroth Bloch and Dr René In ’t Zandt from Lund University, Sweden, supported by a 2025 GloHub seed grant for research and education collaboration. The workshop also received strong support from the National Imaging Facility and Siemens Healthineers Australia.
The Roundtable brought together 50 invited leaders in UHF MRI from Australia and around the world, including Dr Nicolas Boulant (CEA NeuroSpin), Dr David Feinberg (UC Berkeley) and Dr Jon Cleary (King’s College London).
The gathering provided a dedicated forum to explore the future of UHF MRI, discuss emerging clinical and fundamental research applications, share practical insights into operating UHF MRI facilities, and strengthen opportunities for collaboration across academia, facilities, and industry.
