MBCIU at the OHBM 2025 Annual Meeting

The Organisation for Human Brain Mapping (OHBM) 2025 Annual Meeting was held in Brisbane from the 23rd – 28th of June. The Organisation for Human Brain Mapping 2025 Annual Meeting was held in Brisbane from the 23rd – 28th of June. MBCIU staff and students were well represented with multiple posters and presentations.

Rebecca Glarin delivered two oral presentations: one on considerations for fMRI data acquisition and imaging protocol at ultra-high field for fMRI-based neurofeedback and another ultra-high field functional brainstem imaging of nuclei responsible for blood pressure control.

MBCIU staff and students contributed the following poster presentations and abstracts:

  • Poster No. 173 - Diffusion MRI of Chronic Traumatic Brain Injury: A Systematic Review and Meta-analysis authored by Yining Chen with Warda Syeda and Brad Moffat as senior author.
  • Poster No. 575 - Brain Associations of Affinity Scores Across the Psychosis Continuum with Warda Syeda as senior author.
  • Poster No. 1752 - Ultra-high field functional brainstem imaging of nuclei responsible for blood pressure control authored by Rebecca Glarin.

Posters submitted by the MBCIU to OHBM 2025.

The fMRI-based neurofeedback session was co-organised by Rebecca Glarin, together with Valentina Lorenzetti and Chao Suo from the Healthy Brain and Mind Research Centre at the Australian Catholic University. The session featured six presentations covering technical foundations, applications, and best practices in fMRI-based neurofeedback.

As a satellite to OHBM 2025, the Australian 7T Network hosted a social event that brought together UHF MRI users from across Australia, organised by Rebecca Glarin and Jamie Elliott (MBCIU) and Saskia Bollmann (University of Queensland).

The MBCIU’s strong representation at OHBM 2025 highlights the Unit’s active role in advancing ultra-high field MRI research in Australia.
