Paratz MOCHA Research Group (Modelling Outcomes in Cardiac Arrest and Health Analytics)

Research Overview

Liz Paratz

Lead: Associate Professor Elizabeth Paratz

Based at St Vincent’s Hospital, The MOCHA (Modelling Outcomes in Cardiac Arrest and Health Analytics) Group, led by Associate Professor Elizabeth Paratz, focuses on improving outcomes for people who experience cardiac arrest. Each year, more than 33,000 Australians are affected, with survival rates remaining low. By analysing cardiac arrest episodes, digital health innovations, and large-scale datasets, our research seeks to better understand why cardiac arrest occurs, identify prevention strategies, and improve survival and recovery for patients.
