IMMERSE-2 (Infection Prevention & Control in Aged Care)

Research Overview

This study builds on our previous 6-month pilot of a community of practice for Infection Prevention and Control (IPC) Leads in the Australian state of Victoria that was part of the IMpleMenting Effective infection prevention and control in ReSidential Aged CarE (IMMERSE) project.

Based at the Royal Melbourne Hospital, IMMERSE-2 extends the IPC Leads community of practice program across multiple Australian jurisdictions and will be assessed over a 12-month period. The evaluation will include additional measures of IPC practice change, including observational audits of practice, and will assess the costs to deliver the intervention.

IMMERSE-2 is funded by the NHMRC 2024/GNT2032909.
