| Research Overview |

The Allergies and Asthma Research Group, led by Professor Jo Douglass at Royal Melbourne Hospital, explores how environmental factors influence respiratory health, particularly asthma. Our work so far, through the Thunderstorm Asthma In Allergic Rhinitis (TAISAR) study has demonstrated biomarkers of risk for seasonal and allergic asthma. We are extending this work to validate biomarkers through the Creating A RIsk assessment Tool for seasonal and thunderstorm Asthma (CARISTA) study funded by the MRFF, working to establish allergic biomarkers as a treatable trait for respiratory disease. |
