2025 Nikolaos and Dimitra Pantelis Travelling Scholarship Winner: Yoshito Saito

Nikolaos and Dimitra Pantelis Scholarship

Congratulations to Yoshito Saito, who’s been awarded the 2025 Nikolaos and Dimitra Pantelis Travelling Scholarship, earning a $3,500 grant.

This award was established in 2018 by Professor Christos Pantelis and Mrs Kimberley Pantelis. The scholarship supports graduate research students undertaking schizophrenia research, within the Department of Psychiatry, to present at a national or international conference, and/or to work in an internationally recognised lab.

Yoshito will use his grant to present his work at the Pacific Rim College of Psychiatrists (PRCP) & World Association of Cultural Psychiatry (WACP) Joint Congress 2025, as well as visit research institutions in Japan to strengthen international collaborations in schizophrenia research, including:

  • Contributing to the validation of a clinical tool for identifying schizotypal traits in children.
  • Advancing neuroimaging studies on the prodromal stages of psychosis and treatment-resistant schizophrenia through joint projects with multiple universities.
