Staff Spotlight: Clare Walton, Lived Experience Research Partner
Clare Walton is a Lived Experience Research Partner within the Department of Psychiatry. Clare joined the Department in 2023 and is involved in several clinical trials and research activities within the Department. She works on Mondays and Wednesdays and is based on Level 3, Alan Gilbert Building.
Clare is passionate about supporting researchers to embed lived experience of mental health challenges into all stages of research, from inception through to dissemination and beyond. Clare is available to consult with members of the Department on study design, grant applications, participant-facing research documents, and any other issues requiring a lived experience perspective.
Given her limited availability, Clare is not able to review entire grant applications or study protocols, but she may be able to review relevant sections if required. If you are submitting a grant application and wish to consult with Clare, it is highly recommended to do so earlier rather than later in the drafting process.
Please reach out to Clare directly if you would like to discuss your research, or just say hello, at walton.c@unimelb.edu.au.
