Announcing ALIVE National Centre for Mental Health Research Translation

Associate Professor Victoria Palmer has been appointed the inaugural director of The ALIVE National Centre for Mental Health Research Translation. Funded by the NHMRC Special Initiative in Mental Health, the Centre was announced in March this year. ALIVE’s founding partners include 16 universities and research institutes as well as 9 partner organisations across Australia. Over the next 5 years the Centre will set out to achieve its vision to reduce the individual, social and economic impacts of mental illness burden and health inequalities by transforming the primary care and community settings to: embed novel preventive life course models; implement mental-physical health tailored models of care with priority populations; be informed by lived-experience models and leadership.
