Update on The Markers in Neuropsychiatric Disorders (MiND) Study

The University of Melbourne is working with The MiND Study Team at the Royal Melbourne Hospital’s Department of Neuropsychiatry to test the utility of a simple blood test to diagnose younger onset dementia and other neuropsychiatric disorders quickly and more accurately.

Approximately two years into the study, the team have recruited over 500 people overall with a whopping 350 participants agreeing to undertake blood tests. Participants have joined the study from general practices, memory clinics, and medical specialist consulting rooms across Australia.

The initial response rate from patients has been very positive and the team is keen to continue boosting recruitment for this important research, particularly within General Practice.
