University and Royal Melbourne Hospital Innovation Program Launched

Off the back of the successful Innovation Acceleration Program (IAP) with Western Health, the IAP has now been launched at Royal Melbourne Hospital (RMH) to bring together entrepreneurial minds focused on solving unmet healthcare challenges.

Applications for the RMH program recently closed on 29 August 2021. Project selection is underway and from there RMH staff will be matched with UoM researchers to develop a tangible solution for an identified healthcare challenge. Support will be provided by commercialisation experts and mentors along the way.

Please reach out to Callum Lawrence, Senior Project Officer if you are interested in joining the program and working with RMH staff to jointly develop a solution to their identified healthcare challenge.

The teams will have three months to conceptualise their solution, address some key commercial questions and develop a pitch which will be presented on 9 December 2021. Successful applicants will be awarded up to $100,000 in seed funding for prototype development.

University of Melbourne researchers will be matched to projects over a two-week period, starting on 1 September 2021.
