CEBU at the Melbourne Children’s Campus: Short courses for 2023

The Clinical Epidemiology and Biostatistics Unit (CEBU) at the Melbourne Children’s campus, jointly supported by the University of Melbourne and the Murdoch Children’s Research Institute, is a longstanding source of expertise and support in research methods, with a focus on biostatistics.

The Clinical Epidemiology and Biostatistics Unit are offering a series of short courses.

CEBU offers a comprehensive program of short courses, featuring key statistical principles and methods for the design and analysis of studies, including observational studies and clinical trials, workshops on data management, and computer-based courses on recommended software tools such as Stata, R, and REDCap.

The program has been developed and refined over a long period by biostatisticians with extensive collaborative experience. It aims to provide an essential foundation in research methods for clinical researchers, especially advanced trainees starting out in research.

The courses are practically oriented, with much of the work done in small groups working on realistic examples. The next research methods course offered will be Introduction to Biostatistics, held onsite at Royal Children’s Hospital in late March .
