International Domestic Violence and Health Conference 2018

On the 20-21st of November, the Safer Families Centre of Research Excellence held a successful conference

With over 400 people attending from both overseas and interstate, the Safer Families CRE held the first International Domestic Violence and Health conference. There were panel discussions and breakout sessions covering a wide range of topics including programs working with women with lived experience, early intervention in the health sector, and ensuring authentic Indigenous youth voices within research, just to name a few. We had wellness activities including yoga, meditation and massage, and heard from six different people and their personal take on the word ‘beyond’ at our storytelling event at the conference dinner. It was an excellent two days and overall, the conference was a great success!
