MRFF Grant Success for Prostate Cancer Study

New and innovative ways of treating prostate cancer could be available to patients within five years.

The Australian Government and Movember Foundation have announced a three-year MRFF grant of $4 million to fund a multi-site team of 18 researchers led by Associate Professor Niall Corcoran from the Department of Surgery. The funding is from a pool of $12 million to establish Australia’s first suite of Prostate Cancer Research Alliance (PCRA) teams. The PRECEPT (PRostatE CancEr Prognosis and Treatment) study will look at prostate cancer prognosis and treatment, including ground-breaking new tests to identify which patients are most at risk of progressing to more advanced disease and which patients will likely respond best to different treatments.
