Conference Wrap Up

SexRurality 2023 was a resounding success. The event brought together a diverse array of students and professionals from various disciplines, converging to address the pressing concerns and pave a path forward in the domain of regional and rural sexual health. The conference prioritised knowledge sharing and networking, fostering an environment conducive to collaboration and growth.

Across two days, participants enjoyed an impressive line-up of plenary speakers covering topics from disability to inclusion, emerging technologies and Indigenous initiatives with each session igniting insightful discussions. Furthermore, the event featured four distinct streams dedicated to showcasing the achievements of the sexual health workforce. Adding to the excitement, participants were also treated to a fantastic performance by ILBIJERRI Theatre Company to round out the first day of the conference.

At the conclusion of Wednesday afternoon, it was clear that a great time was had by everyone in attendance. It is undeniable that SexRurality 2023 fostered a genuine sense of camaraderie and enthusiasm, propelling the passion for rural and regional sexual health to new heights in the post-COVID era.
